OUR PURPOSE

We exist to provide the young people of  FAZE the opportunity to experience God through SPIRITUAL GROWTH, LIFE WORSHIP, MINISTRY INVOLVEMENT, AUTHENTIC RELATIONSHIPS, AND SERVICE DRIVEN OUTREACH.

GROWTH

Here at Faze we have an interesting view of spiritual growth in relationship to personal discipleship. When we are infants our growth depends on our parents ability to take care of us.  Feed us, clothe us, and simply do the things that we require to be a healthy person.  At some point we grow up, we learn to feed ourselves, we dress ourselves, we become responsible for our own health, our own growth.  Doesn't mean our parents abandon us, just means responsibility changes.  We believe  that same process takes place in our spiritual lives.  The church is their to help you learn to feed yourself.  Discipleship programs simply create a dependency for more programs instead of teaching people to feed themselves.  That is our heart here at FAZE.  We want to "pass the spoon".   We want to equip our young people with the tools it takes to disciple themselves so when they leave for college and have no program to help them grow they don't walk away from their faith.  That growth is provided through ministries like:   The Journey, RUSH Week, Retreats, small groups, and our Sunday Morning services.

WORSHIP

Romans 12:1 says, "Therefore I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this IS your spiritual act of WORSHIP."  What a great verse to describe what worship is and should be.  The giving of our lives, everything we are, and everything we do we give to him every moment of everyday.  The process of dying to self so that God and others may benefit... that is WORSHIP.  If we had to define worship in FAZE , we would say, "Worship is OUR RESPONSE to the REVELATION of God!"  We feel that there is no way to worship God in spirit and in truth unless you are "seeing" Him on a daily basis.  The bible says, "Without a vision the people parish."  Let me clarify that for you.  That simply means that without a fresh, daily revelation of who God is, the people [His Church] will draw back and grow complacent. [Luke warm if you will]  We need to be encountering God everyday and experiencing Him so that our worship... our life and lip worship becomes our response to Who He Is.  Worship is such a vital part of FAZE.  You will see it and hear about it everything we do.  Not only the worship that comes from living right before God, but also corporate worship that brings the presence of God in a way nothing else does.  Believers, God's people, coming together to worship Him, when they feel like it and when they don't, is one of the greatest moments of our week.  Those experiences are provided through ministries like:  Vox Dei, The Encounter, Sunday morning FAZE, and other times where we just feel like lifting our voices to worship Him.

INVOLVEMENT

We believe that the scripture is very clear when it speaks of who a minister is.

RELATIONSHIP

Ministry in today's culture does not take place without relationship.  I would venture to say that the greatest form of sharing your faith, is a faith shared in the context of relationship, not a track you hand out as you pass by a stranger.

OUTREACH

During Jesus ministry on earth he taught His disciples a principle that defined his ministry.  A principle that He wanted to see define them.  That principle was shared in the form of "If you want to be great in my kingdom, learn to be a servant of all..." or "He who wants to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me."  We see all through His ministry this theme of serving God, serving others, serving everyone but ourselves.  We live in a culture that has bought the "pattern of the world" philosophy and we truly are a self-centered, self-driven society.
